Habits that pay off in every level
- Look at the goal first. Read the goal and the number of moves before the level starts. If the goal is to collect red tulips, a lovely match with blue flowers won't get you very far.
- Play from the bottom of the board. A match in the lower rows slides all the flowers above it down and creates new matches on its own. Playing from the top doesn't give you this chain reaction.
- Look for fours instead of threes. If the same move can give you a rocket or a pinwheel, go for it. A special power often does the work of three or four ordinary moves.
- Don't set powers off right away. When there is a rocket on the board and you can bring a second power next to it, the combination clears far more tiles. Waiting a move or two usually pays off.
- Use the orb with the right color. Swap the rainbow orb with the goal color or with the color that appears most on the board. Wasting it on a random color is the most common mistake.
Tactics for each obstacle
- Ice: Ice in the corners is the hardest to reach, so go for it first. The ice in the middle breaks in the normal flow of play anyway.
- Vine: A wrapped flower can't move, but it can still be part of a match. Bringing two flowers of the same color next to it is enough.
- Rock: Don't bother with ordinary matches, they do nothing. Line up a rocket with the row or column the rocks are in; a single rocket takes out several rocks at once.
- Grass: Starting the grass in the middle of the board lets it spread in four directions at once. Start at the edge and it has fewer directions to spread in.
Using your resources wisely
- Save the hammer for the end. The hammer doesn't use a move. It is most valuable when you are one tile away from the goal and out of moves.
- Don't miss the daily rewards. The daily gift, the free wheel spin and the ad chest together give you a serious amount of gold and boosters. Opening the game just once a day is enough.
- Out of lives? Wait or watch an ad. One life refills every 20 minutes. Saving your gold for boosters instead of spending it on lives gets you through more levels in the long run.
Stuck on a level? Every tenth level is deliberately designed to be harder, and the level right after it is easier. If you can't pass it in a few tries, it's a good idea to start with a booster, or to collect your daily gift the next day and try again.
